Creative New Moon Intentions
The new moon cycle serves as a powerful time for setting new intentions, offering an opportunity to reflect on goals and create actionable plans.
Ask yourself...
What creative projects need letting go of? Which ones are worth pursuing? Which new opportunities will you take this month? Do you have any projects you are required by hard deadline to finish this month?
Remember, there are many good projects for you to work on. You don't have to do it all. Saying no feels as good, if not better, as saying yes.
Now, without further ado, let's get into some juicy lettering tips we mentioned in the video.
3D Lettering tip #1
Make sure you've made all the adjustments to your base layer letters. It is possible to edit later, but it's quite time consuming. Keeping the base layer will make feedback later in the process easier to implement. Typically 2-3 layers is a good. Keeping your layers organized will also save you time when implementing feedback.
3D Lettering tip #2
Choose a contrasting color in value or hue for best blend results. Contrast in value looks like a dark black with a light grey. Contrast in hue looks like 2 colors on opposite sides of the color wheel (i.e. blue and orange).
3D Lettering tip #3
When using the "blend" tool (under "effects" tab), switch to "specified steps" and decrease steps to save computer energy and decrease file size. The number of steps might change based on how much depth you want. Consider the final output of the project (i.e. will it be printed?) when deciding how many steps. If you zoom in and see too much "stair stepping" for your aesthetic, increase the steps until you get the desired result for the outcome of your project.

The goal is to do these as many new moons as possible. I love getting to know people through creative time. Subscribe to my Youtube channel to see when I go live next. Hint: the next new moon is June 25. Mark your calendars for a morning (10 am pacific time) livestream.
Quick disclaimer: I mentioned music at the beginning and then realized I wasn't sharing sound so it didn't matter what I listened to. Take the music suggestion if your curious about listening to something new.
